Fearing the warnings of their War Wizard, the Dwarf King Goldgollad, King Under the Water’s Falls, engaged in a quest to gather their warrior’s forces.
It was during a time of peace and prosperity; mining gold and ore while the grand waterfall powered their steam-driven engines. Their wise War Wizard told the king the incoming threat could not be defeated by a single army alone. And only the War Wizard returned, barely alive.
Believing their warriors needed to see members of the royal family leading their people, Gilgoldea reforged her husband’s spare armor and took his place. To assist her, the War Wizard enchanted her army’s armor to repair itself!
In their absence their treasure was set upon by the fiery and fierce red King dragon Kartothos. Without the use of their giant eagles, whom answered Saeline’s summoning call, their mountain mine home was defensless. Queen Gilgoldea fled with her fellow Dwarfs as the wounded Wizard returned to tell her their King and his force had vanished! The might of magic used to defeat them suggested either the power of the dark forces gathering in the south or the magical ocean elementals. To help, Gilgoldea hired mercenaries with specialized X-bows. For revenge, her men captured some of Kartothas’ hatchlings to use as riding mounts to replace their betraying eagles.
Led by the bitter Queen, they defend the home they can’t return to while hoping to rescue the King they can’t find!

Captain Dellingr was left behind to guard the Queen when King Goldgollad, he thought he was being punished. Upon hearing of the King's disappearance, he now realizes he has a much bigger role to play.

The Eagle King: Queen
As Saeline's Sky Knights were the original mounts for the dwarves, Finnr Frár, The gold griffin Eagle King previously led them into battle and acted as King Goldgollad's battle mount.
Hatchling Dragoneer: Knights
With the loss of their Sky Knight to Saeline's summonings, Rekkr decided to make the best of their unfortunate situation. Capturing the hatchlings rushing to Kartothas' aid, they now employ them as replacement mounts until they can get their giant eagles back.
