Suffering for a lifetime of selfish deeds in theTombs of the Dead, the expired Emperor
Nyrolate carried the burden of his crimes engraved in the weighted chains and weapons
of his fallen knights; enslaving him to their memories.
As a ghost he himself was tormented and haunted by the knowledge of their loss. His only solace was the nightly communication to his Kingly son, Tyrolane. He just didn’t realize that the dreams he sent warped into nightmares that were driving Tyrolane mad. To relieve the pressure of the stress, Tyrolane sought magic to restore hims father to life.
The battle he'd perished in was incredibly sore; they had lost before their first strike. The War Wizard
had warned him about attacking too early. Wanting to prove his strength, he choose to attack
the Beast while it was still in its own lands, before it could venture into, and destroy, their lands.

It cost him everything. Dying, he witnessed his men’s bones stripped through their armor where they stood. His his pride had sealed their doom. Yet his men’s souls never crossed to the other side. When the beast was destroyed, their souls became trapped in a thousand violet-colored jewels throughout Nyrolate’s kingdom. The foreign magic trapped the souls
within these sparkling crystals, crying to be freed.
As he pondered over his past a rift through the Gates of the Dead tore open, restoring for him a brief moment to reclaim history and undo his wrongs. Blinded by his eagerness and grim determination he set forth with a dead army, the Grim Reaper as his parole officer, and a deceased Fire Elemental, unable to distinguish friend from foe!
